A warm, home-from-home interior redesign for a historic Grade II listed brasserie, blending modern British and Central European heritage with sensitive acoustic engineering.
The Brief
Limeblue was commissioned to deliver a fresh, modern interior redesign for Vicky’s Brasserie, situated within a historic Grade II listed building in Haslemere, Surrey. The brief was to create an inviting, family-friendly dining destination tailored to a modern British and Hungarian fusion menu. The client required a cozy, accessible atmosphere for local diners, integrating a pre-defined color palette created by their graphic designer while overcoming structural constraints, including strict acoustic requirements due to residential flats directly above the venue.
Our Approach
Our approach balanced respect for heritage architecture with clever acoustic and spatial solutions. Working sensitively with the listed fabric of the building, we mapped out distinct zones to cater to different dining occasions. To resolve noise transmission to the apartments above, we specified and installed high-performance acoustic soundproofing across the entire ceiling structure. We then established a seamless spatial flow that transitions guests from a relaxed, sofa-filled reception space into intimate dining areas.
The Design & Build
The final fit-out thoughtfully weaves the prescribed brand colors into a warm, tactile aesthetic. Limeblue designed a cozy snug-like dining area framed with painted timber wall paneling, alongside an inviting entrance lounge featuring plush sofas that establish an immediate home-from-home feel. Every architectural element, from acoustic ceiling treatments to bespoke joinery, was executed to work cohesively with the building’s historic character, creating a tranquil and memorable space for families to dine.
