Our message is clear and simple; we value our planet
We promise no eco buzzwords, no sustainability jargon and no corporate ‘greenwashing’.
Whilst we care about our clients and are passionate about creating beautiful spaces that attract the largest footfall, as a team we are dedicated to sourcing materials and researching manufacturing processes that have the smallest impact on our environment. As members of the Institute of Environment Management and Assessment (IEMA), we continue to strengthen our knowledge of key practices that support sustainability. Through access to invaluable resources, we continue to uphold our responsibility to the planet as we work with contractors and clients to greatly improve and secure a healthy future for us all.
Our nature-conscious suppliers
Limeblue uses a large portfolio of sustainable and bio-based materials as well as environmentally conscious services and practices, which allow us to design and manufacture beautiful stands with a greatly reduced environmental impact.
- Our carpet suppliers now offer a range of sustainable carpets that are 100% recyclable. They offer an almost limitless colour spectrum and do not cost anymore than their other carpet systems.
- We work with MDF alternatives such as bamboo, and eco board made from agricultural residues such as straw or reeds. Both are 100% biodegradable, 100% formaldehyde-free, 100% durable, 100% recyclable.
- We are using environmentally friendly paints that are water-based and contain little to no VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds).
What we are working towards
- We are switching our energy supplier to Ecotricity; the world’s first green electricity company. 100% green electricity powered by the wind and the sun. They also offer carbon neutral green gas for businesses.
- Due to the nature of our business, our designers need to travel all over the world to project manage our client’s events. Flight providers now inform you of greener choices when booking your flight, we will ensure that any flight we take emits at least 10% less CO2
- We are looking to work with recycled plastic from a closed-loop process, where the product is recycled back into its original form.
‘Plastic can often only be recycled once or twice into a new plastic product…
That’s because the polymers break down in the recycling process.’
– National Geographic, 2018.
Reducing our vehicle carbon emissions
- We are asking our contractors to think about switching to Tevva, an eTruck only company. The Tevva eTruck has an electric range of up to 150km, however they do offer a range extender to make it range-unlimited.
- Whilst we make steps to encourage our contractors to go electric, we are looking at what we can implement now. B20 (biofuel) is now being used for all London buses. This type of fuel can be used in most diesel trucks without any engine adaptation required.

Working with contractors
- Our largest contractor will be changing their energy provider to a renewable energy supplier.
- All their waste is currently recycled, nothing ends up in landfill.
- They use the newest Euro 6 compliant engine in their vans. Having updated their fleet of vehicles they now comply with all low emission zones in cities across the world.

Even the small stuff helps
- Reusing is at the core of our sustainable ethos, therefore we either hire furniture or if our client has purchased the furniture, we will reuse it at each event.
- Our contractors currently reuse all packaging from event to event and recycle when it has come to the end of its packaging life.
- We encourage our clients to reuse their stands where possible in a combined effort to reduce our carbon footprint.
- Any paper used within the office is made from recyclable materials, is uncoated and therefore fully recyclable.
- As should be standard in every office, we recycle all paper and cardboard. We have found a local recycle depot that accepts plastic as well.
- We get the milk for our tea and coffee delivered the old school way, in a glass bottle. Fully reusable for the next customer.
